The question of the week: What is your usual monthly book budget?
Honestly, I really should have a book budget but I don't. Also, recently I've put myself on a self induced book buying ban until I get the number of books on my bookshelf down to a manageable number. Meaning NOT overflowing and NO under the bed box full of books as well.
This weeks question is: "If you find a book that looks interesting but is part of a series, do you always start with the first title?"
No, not always. There are some series that I do because it just makes sense (like The Black Dagger Brotherhood novels). I mean you read about 1 sexy Vamp and you want to read about the rest of them right?! I did start the Mercy Thompson series with the 3rd book instead of the first book...that was a little weird.

Hi Jamie! Hopping through. You'll never believe it, but I've put myself on a book buying ban this November, too! I need to focus on school with the end of the term just a month away, so I'm not reading anything either, but I so desperately wish for it to be the end of the month already!
Have a great weekend!

Good Morning Jamie!
Happy Friday.
New follower here. I’m doing all three of the Friday blog runs. I don’t limit myself to budget with books. I just love to read and write so that line is always doable for me. And Yes, I love start a series at the 1st book.

Happy Friday, Jamie! Bravo to you for sticking to your ban till you can get through your current stacks. I REALLY need to do that. Enjoy the weekend!
Hi! New follower here.
I think I'm the only one that hasn't read the Black Dagger Brotherhood *feels left out* :P

Hey, new follower from the hop.
I don't totally have a budget either and I try to keep my to-be-read pile small before I buy a new book too.
Have a great weekend, Caroline, Words & Whispers
Just hopped in to say hi and am now a follower. Have a wonderful weekend!
Hi there! Just hoppin' on by. <3 I'm a new follower! :D
My book budget is $0! I'm a poor college student, so I only borrow books from the library or read in Barnes and Noble while hogging their air conditioning. :)
Kristina @ Frazzled Book Nommer. Have a good weekend! <3
I can dive right into the middle of a book series if the series' story
doesn't run chronologically.
That is to say, if each novel in a series is a stand-alone story (like Lee
Child's Reacher novels) then I don't feel the need to start with book one.
On the other hand, a series of books (like Richard Hatch's Battlestar
Galactica novels) can't be read out of sequence since each new book builds
upon the story of the previous entry in the series.
Happy Book Blogger Hop Friday!

Just found you through the Hop! I am definitely a library girl. I hate buying a book and then finding out that it doesn't live up to the hype. When I read everything through the library, then I can be more picky about only buying my favorites. Have a great weekend!
Hey! I just realized that you already stopped by Book Love! Thanks :)
Hi, I'm stopping by from the hop! I usually try to read books in order, but I sometimes find out that a book is part of a series. Have a blessed weekend! :)
