Current Events:

I have been doing some thinking and I've come to the conclusion that I need to take a temporary break from book blogging. NOTE: Any tour stops that I've committed to will be honored. I have decided that I want to combine my love of books, blogging, knitting, movies digital photography and life in general into 1 blog so that I don't feel so overwhelmed. Right now I feel like my book blogging is a job, I already have one of those. My plan is to come back in the near future with a new blog and a new plan.

2011 Read Your Own Books Challenge

NOTE: I'll be fixing the photo shortly.  I just wanted to get a temporary photo up for the initial post.

I was reading a discussion post over on Mindful Musings about the books we haven't read and I was discouraged when I found that of all the books pictured in the post I had read or attempted to read only 2.  So I have decided that I am going to try and remedy that situation.  I am going to try and read more of my own books in 2011. If you would like to participate in the challenge with me here are the "rules:"

1. Please create a post for the challenge...In the comments below please include the link to your challenge post (NOT your blog homepage.)

2. As long as the book(s) you are reading are books that you CURRENTLY own they count towards this years challenge.

3. The object is to read as many of your own books, regardless of format, as possible by the end of the year.

4. Challenge goes from February 17, 2011 - December 31, 2011.

Sigh....I hope I posted this right. My computer and I are at odds this week. I was thrilled to see this challenge. If I bring any more new books home my husband may divorce me....but then I would have more room for more new books.... I did promise I would try to read teh ones I have first so this is a great incentive.

I have my post all ready to go. I am joining now but will return on Wednesday to link up my post. With 960 books on my TBR that qualify, I need this challenge!

Looking forwad to the challenge. I love to read and doing reviews. I have so many books that I need to read of my own, but the library always has such wonderful selections. Why do people that have books of their own, always continue to look for others. I think that I am a book addict. LOL

Is there a review linky for this challenge? I couldn't find it. Here is my review for The Persian Pickle Club by Sandra Dallas:

I'm definitely one of those people who could use this challenge. I buy books and they pile up on my shelves while I ignore them for books I grab from the library.

This is my challenge post. Now to get on with the reading and get those shelves cleared!
Alright, alright, to make room for more books! : )
